Let's get it started.

Initally, I started blogging when I went to Bali for a semester abroad. I just wanted to keep my peers up to date and liked the idea of a digital diary. After I came back I blogged everytime I travelled again and I got a small (really small, but hey) readers crowd. I really enjoy the writing and putting the pictures together, but since it is a travel blog, I only write when I have been away (which is not that often as I want it I have to admit).

Next to blogging myself I have been reading blogs since four or five years - and the range of the bloggers I follow goes from big German blogs as MC Winkel or Amy&Pink over fashion blogs, blogs from the textile industry (as I got a Master in this field), blogs with pictures and most importantly: blogs by women.

I always enjoyed reading those womens stories most: the ones about their ordinary lifes, about their feelings and about their interest in feminism. I recognized that I identify myself with these thoughts about women and how the media reacts towards that.

The idea of starting my own "female" blog apart from the whole travelling thing came up quite often in the last 6 months and I started to search for material, ideas and thoughts to put into.

Next to the whole girls stuff I am a passionate snowboarder and I love boardsports in general. As I am working in the sports industry I am seeing the whole business through those eyes as well.

But the very last thing that got me writing now has been the Women in Board- and Actionsports Conference last week in Biarritz. I attended this conference for the first time and I am still in awe of how inspiring and totally amazing all the ladies have been.

Each lady has been so dedicated to their project: be it being an athlete (the wonderful Valeria Kechichian from the Longboard Girls Crew as well as the 4 times Surf- Longboard-World Championship Winner Cori Schumacher have been with us), or setting up new digital projects or or working in the industry. This inspired me to finally get this whole (no) girls talk blog rolling.

This blog will be pretty diverse, as my interests spread wide. I want to introduce projects by other girls, feminist topics, girls in actionsports, things that happen to me in daily life, and so on. Let's see how this all goes - I hope you will enjoy my attempt to share my point of view.
